Maribor, Slovenia

We went to Maribor, Slovenia, last Monday by train, just for luch and to see the city a bit.
Maribor is a very old town with interesting architecture. Slovenia used to be a communist country and has many of the communist apartment buildings, but also it has old architecture from the past centuries. On this picture you see a war monument.
This is where we had lunch. It was a restaurant right by the Drau River.
Unfortunately, they only had two dishes on the menu - and they both contained meet. It's not easy for T-Wayne here in Europe as far as non-meat dishes go :-)
Just a graffiti we saw when walking around town.
It was a wonderful day and we just enjoyed taking a train for an hour and to be in a different country where you can't even read the menu anymore!

Salzburg

Last Saturday we went to Salzburg with two friends. Here you can see a view of the castle in Salzburg, which is in the middle of the city, with the Mirabell gardens in the front of the picture.

This, we thought, was an interesting picture because you had a statue of Jesus in the front and right behind it an advertisement for underwear.

And here's my favorite dress :-) ...

... and Todrick's favorite pants :-)

This is our friend Shagane and I at the Mirabell gardens in Salzburg.

And here's Todrick "coming to you from Salzburg. International, baby!"

Shagane, Cherif, and I - and of course Toni. He was there and entertained us all.

Todrick's German class

Todrick has been taking a German class at the school in Graz where I also teach. But I'm not his teacher! Anyway, every day, he comes home after class telling me how much fun it was and how nice his class mates are. So, here as some pictures. Above, you see his class mate from Italy.
This is Todrick's teacher. She is an excellent teacher and keeps the group alert.
These two class mates are from Bulgaria and Argentinia. It's just so wonderful to meet people from all ove the world and to find out that we all have more in common than we think.
And that's his class mate from China. Everybody is so amazed by him because if we only knew half as much Chinese as he knows German, we could all be very proud of ourselves.
